This trendy piece of furniture is actually a structure where you can grow your own plants and provide energy to all kitchen appliances!

Thinking green is becoming a way of life now rather than a passing trend. More people are making conscious buying decisions based on the effect the products are having on the environment.

The Loop is both green and ergonomic in design with a contemporary and cozy space to relax. You ‘feed it’ with compost from your kitchen and in return it ‘feeds you’ with both gas and electricity.

Integrated with a methane gas processor, loop extracts methane from the decomposing materials. The Methane produced is used to cook food or gets converted into electricity by a methanol fuel cell.

You can then grow your owns veggies or plants on the surface due to the consistently warm surface. This is the ultimate green accessory that will grow and evolve with time.

Source: Ecofriend.org
Image: Ecofriend.org

“There hasn't been a property correction here for 20 years,” he said in an interview with Empire magazine while plugging his new movie, RocknRolla.
“House prices don't go down, they just go up. And the natives of England are sort of being left behind because the big money came in and if it wanted something, it bought it and it made a bigger fortune by doing so.”

The film-maker currently lives in a £7million Marylebone house with Madge, 49, and their three children.
According to The Independent they also bought the £6m neighbouring house that has been converted into a gym.

Other properties include

-Two mews cottages.

-A Georgian home in Regent’s Park, North London.

-£9m home in Ashcombe estate, Wiltshire.

Described as a shrewd property investor, Madonna also owns properties in the United States; in Beverly Hills and New York.

Ritchie blames the “Russian oligarchs” for the London property boom.
“They have a unique way of doing business. They don't haggle – they double the price on everything. If it's going for £500m, they'll pay £1bn. So it has left everyone with their pants down a bit,” he says.

Coincidently, Ritchie’s new film involves Russian mobsters and Brits who get embroiled in a property deal that goes wrong.

And the 39-year-old could soon find himself out in the cold if rumours are true that he and Madonna are about to split after seven years of marriage. A formal announcement about the marriage is expected to be made at the end of Madonna’s world tour, which finishes on November 29 in Mexico.

Source: The Independent and Empire magazine.
Image: wallpapers.free-review.net

But how do you know if you are buying in a prime location? Propertyfinder.com has taken the guesswork out of choosing the hottest property spots by revealing the top searches on its site. But we also want your feedback. Brag about where you live – or tell us where you aspire to live… We want you to tell us where you think the best locations are.

February saw counties in the southwest trounce the rest of the country as the most popular places to look for property.

• Cornwall, Dorset, Devon and Somerset topped the national chart of favourites and Surrey came in at number 5.

• No counties north of Lincolnshire made it into the top 10.

• Cornwall proved to be twice as popular as Surrey and all the southwestern counties were far ahead of their rivals in the southeast. Towns to take out the top rankings:

• Lincoln, Oxford and Southampton

• Exeter was the fifth most popular town in the country

• Bristol, Bournemouth and Plymouth made it into the top 20.

Propertyfinder.com. director Nicholas Leeming says the popularity of the south-west was a mixed blessing for locals. “Everyone knows how beautiful the south west is,” he said. “Many of those searching the region for property are outsiders looking for second homes. That can push the price of property beyond the means of locals who have relatively lower incomes. It’s no surprise that younger people tend to move away looking for better paid work.”

January saw Brighton take the crown of the most popular location, followed by Manchester then Watford. London topped the list for overall activity (adjusted for the number of households); but activity in the capital was no better than average when compared to the rest of the country.

Propertyfinder.com’s commercial director Neil Tavender says, although the national market has cooled, some areas were still hives of activity.

“Buyer activity on propertyfinder.com in Brighton is almost four times the average for the country,” he said. “Our overall traffic data at a national level, and the increase in leads we are delivering to estate agents, reflect not so much a resurgence in the housing market, but more our growing success in reaching the home movers that agents need us to help find for them.”

So, do you think your town or area is the best. Tell us where you live and why you think it’s one of the UK’s prime locations.

London’s population is the most eligible in the country for those looking for a partner, according to propertyfinder.com's research on National Statistics. The capital’s combination of a very high proportion of single people with high incomes makes London’s singletons the best bet for anyone in <a title="Britain" href="http://www.propertyfinder.com/uk/property/"style="color:#333">Britain looking to move to find love.

The most eligible borough in the country is the City, although with only just over 3,600 single people, the choice is limited. London dominates the national rankings with 22 boroughs out of the top 25. Even the least eligible borough in the capital, Havering, comes in at number 63 on the national ranking, relatively high out of 354 districts across the country.

The worst places in the country to find love are Christchurch and the Isles of Scilly, both in the South West. A combination of very few single people and low earnings make them a poor bet for those looking for a partner.

For gays and lesbians, the City of London is again the top spot in the country to catch a well-to-do partner, with <a title="Brighton" href="http://www.propertyfinder.com/uk/property/south+east/east+sussex/brighton"style="color:#333">Brighton the second best place. <a title="Islington" href="http://www.propertyfinder.com/uk/property/london/north+london/islington"style="color:#333">Islington comes third. <a title="Manchester" href="http://www.propertyfinder.com/uk/property/north+west/greater+manchester/manchester"style="color:#333">Manchester, Lewes in Sussex, and Cambridge are the only non-London places in the top 25 for homosexuals. Castle Point in East Anglia is the worst place to find a same sex partner with some cash.

Heartbreak, measured by the number of separated and divorced people, is much more evenly spread around the country, with Blackpool claiming the top spot. Only eight of the top twenty most heartbroken boroughs are in London, with <a title="Hackney" href="http://www.propertyfinder.com/uk/property/london/east+london/hackney"style="color:#333">Hackney topping London’s list.

Those looking to catch a rich divorcee, however, need look no further than <a title="Kensington and Chelsea" href="http://www.propertyfinder.com/uk/property/london/south+west+london/kensington+and+chelsea"style="color:#333">Kensington and Chelsea which tops the London and national eligible divorcee list.

A man looking to find a well-heeled woman is best placed in Brent, where female incomes are highest compared to their male counterparts. Women in the City and Westminster have the highest absolute incomes in Britain, but not when compared to their male neighbours.

The Aussie pop star’s inspiration to glam up the boudoir has come from her world travels, silk bedspreads from Buenos Aires and a 1930s duvet won on eBay. “I was totally hands-on with the design,” she told Australian author Kathy Lette in an interview with Women & Home magazine. “I collated a lot of photo references of all kinds of things, including a lot of fashion.”
Initial design meetings for the ‘Kylie at Home’ range took place at her <a title="london home" href="http://www.propertyfinder.com/uk/property/london"style="color:#333">London home where the designers could use Kylie’s own home furnishings for inspiration. Kylie revealed to Associated Press that she had been hoarding fabrics and other pieces for more than 20 years, which were finally serving a purpose. The result was a range featuring seven key designs including a white quilt cover with silver sequined border and matching pillows, art deco style prints and cream cushions wrapped in large bows, which are on sale at House of Fraser. Kylie says her grandmother, Nain, piqued her interest in home furnishings and fashion after teaching her how to sew at age 13. “I used to go to the market and haul back all sorts of fabrics and trims, and make my own clothes,” she said. “She was, and is, so inspiring and she will be so happy to know of this collection. “To this day I have adored fabrics, trims, the look and feel of them, the way they catch the light and work together ... it's a thrill to see this history of mine and my love of fashion coming together with my love for 'home'.” Story: Angela Erini and AAP

After Diana's death in 1997, Charles Spencer closed Althorp to the public, but now the gates have reopened in a bid to make money to maintain the grand estate. The venue, which is located in Northamptonshire about 90-minute drive north of London, proves to be a popular, if not controversial, tourist attraction and comes complete with souvenir shop, snack bar and a merry-go-round. Diana's famous wedding gown is also on display for those wanting to reminisce.

In a special promotion to American Express’ ultra-exclusive Centurion cardholders, Spencer advertised that guests could have unlimited access to the estate. They could even sleep in the Princess of Wales’ room – a room Diana once shared with Prince Charles. However, Diana’s burial site on Althorp’s island is out of bounds.

Spencer has backed his decision to let the 500-year-old estate. “Althorp has hosted corporate and private hospitality for clients for 30 years,” he said in a statement. “This is a normal way of helping with the upkeep of an historic house.”

A Spencer spokesperson says it now costs about half-a-million pounds a year to maintain Althorp. The pricey parties and rentals also help make up for declining visitors to the Northamptonshire estate.

Althorp is open to the public from July 1st to September 30th, except for August 31st, the anniversary of Diana's death.

Story: Angela Erini and AP

Diana's wedding gown on display at Althorp

Princess Diana's ancestral home, Althorp
