Kylie Minogue’s boudoir brand

Kylie Minogue is giving you the chance to slip between her sheets after the launch of her new luxury bed linen range. The Aussie pop star’s inspiration to glam up the boudoir has come from her world travels, silk bedspreads from Buenos Aires and a 1930s duvet won on eBay. “I was totally hands-on with the design,” she told Australian author Kathy Lette in an interview with Women & Home magazine. “I collated a lot of photo references of all kinds of things, including a lot of fashion.” Initial design meetings for the ‘Kylie at Home’ range took place at her London home where the designers could use Kylie’s own home furnishings for inspiration. Kylie revealed to Associated Press that she had been hoarding fabrics and other pieces for more than 20 years, which were finally serving a purpose. The result was a range featuring seven key designs including a white quilt cover with silver sequined border and matching pillows, art deco style prints and cream cushions wrapped in large bows, which are on sale at House of Fraser. Kylie says her grandmother, Nain, piqued her interest in home furnishings and fashion after teaching her how to sew at age 13. “I used to go to the market and haul back all sorts of fabrics and trims, and make my own clothes,” she said. “She was, and is, so inspiring and she will be so happy to know of this collection. “To this day I have adored fabrics, trims, the look and feel of them, the way they catch the light and work together ... it's a thrill to see this history of mine and my love of fashion coming together with my love for 'home'.” Story: Angela Erini and AAP
