Prince William and Kate make the right move

Prince William is apparently trading in his party-boy digs at the officers’ mess to make the right move with Kate Middleton  to his dad’s house in London.

The 25-year-old royal girlfriend has reportedly made a secret move into Prince Charles’ official residence, Clarence House, after leaving her job as a fashion buyer for Jigsaw.

Royal sources have said, while Kate’s new living quarters were not official, she was becoming “part of the furniture”.

"She and William have had a rollercoaster year, but it is fair to say they're closer than ever," one source told The Sun newspaper.

"Since getting back together in the summer their relationship has matured and they are now on far more of an equal footing.

Clarence House is far cry from the couple’s original love nest at St Andrews University, Scotland where they first shared accommodation.

The extravagant property, which was once home to the Queen Mother, and is a short walk to Buckingham Palace, is not your typical share house for a couple testing the conjugal waters.

Most 25-year-old English couples would be lucky to share a one-bedroom flat starting out together, but luckily for Kate, she's tamed a royal prince.

Since finishing his tank commander course in August, the prince has been spending more time in London, even though he still has a room at the Combermere Barracks officers' mess in Windsor.

Prince William split with Kate last April, disappointing those who were hoping for a royal engagement.

The couple rekindled their romance after Prince William and Prince Harry hosted a memorial concert for their mother, Princess Diana.

Kate has reportedly given the keys of her upmarket chelsea flat to her sister Pippa.

It is absolutely disgusting!!! our (taxpayers) money is going towards funding William's girlfriend's bodyguard, which she is not entitled to, in addition it seems she can't do a decent days work. We have to work 8 hours a day for nothing compared to what they get and what is she doing? how can she afford to jet off skiing every 5 minutes and give up her job if we (taxpyers are not paying for that as well!!!) It really disgusts me.

Not quite true Re:taxpayers paying for Royal's expenses. The Civil List dates back to 1760. The Monarch of the day agreed to hand over all the revenue from the Crown Estates to Parliament, in exchange for which, Parliament would cover their agreed expenses. I think the amount handed over by the Crown Estate was just under £200 million last year, and the expenses were very considerably less that that. So, in fact, the taxpayer makes a profit on the deal.
