The death of the mower ...

Julie from Basingstoke:

Our flymo died,

the handle fell off and then the switch broke,
and it's the poor lawn that got negleted,
It got weedy, mossy and really to patchy,
the hedgehog he despaired and ran away, all winter he stayed,
the frogs liked to dance on the lawn when it rained,
but now it's too long...so they left too, gone to pastures new.

The birds they used to bathe and eat from the feeder,
but now the grass is too long and they can't see the danger,
the robin the blue tit, and even the pigeon have gone,
as the grass is too long.

All because our mower got so old it finally died,
a new flymo would bring back all the creatures,
the birds and the frogs, and the hedgehogs,
and my amazing grass.
