A pesky squirrel has ruined my lawn

Hi my lawn needs loving because i havent really got a decent lawn due to my old mower pulling the grass up as its so old and it stops and starts, combined with a pesky squirrel that keeps digging my lawn for nuts ( I think he sees the mess my mower makes and thinks the holes will be a good hiding place.). A new mower would be lovely.
