The new site service titled Tesco Property Market is due to be launched this month and will be supported with a website. Eve McGowan, of The Mail on Sunday reported "Those who fear Tesco is taking over the world may not be impressed by the supermarket chain's latest venture – a property website". The site allows homeowners to sell privately, complete with Tesco branded For Sale boards and viewings and offers arranged online. McGowan goes on to report that the site "will include tens of thousands of properties from all the major property portals including Primelocation and FindaProperty".
Warren Bright, CEO of propertyfinder.com, commented that "Unlike Primelocation and FindaProperty we will not be supplying properties to the Tesco website. Our business is based on supporting estate agents, so we won't be promoting a service that tries to undermine them. Portals providing properties to Tesco will simply add value to the website, which will attract more users and therefore make more people aware of this cut price, no service offering. We don't think this is in the best interests of the industry."
